Nepal

Our work has been crucial in prioritizing cancer care and research in Nepal, highlighting the scope in cancer burden in Nepal, using population-based cancer registries. In addition, our work has been able to highlight rural and urban differences in cancer incidence, the utility of telehealth strategies for cancer care consultations and providing key pilot studies defining financial toxicity in the nation. Our current work in Nepal is centred around the availability and variance in price of GI cancer therapeutics, the implementation of simple, safe, and effective treatment procedures, and the training of general practitioners in oncology practice (GPOs), to circumvent the high workload of oncologists and the increasing cancer burden in the nation.
