May 11, 2026. BG Lab released the 4th episode of Grounded in Groundshot podcast with special guest, Dr. Ian Tannock.
Dr. Ian Tannock is an Emeritus Professor of Medicine and Medical Biophysics from the University of Toronto and Princess Margaret Cancer Center.
In this episode, they discuss how Dr. Tannock started his career in oncology, how he became a clinical trialist, and how his background has helped him analyze clinical trials with a critical lens. He discusses the critical editorials he wrote that criticize clinical trials, including conflicts of interest and trial design, as well as his thoughts and optimism about the future of clinical trials.
He also talks about his experience leading clinical trials and mentoring fellows – he advises fellows in oncology to develop their research careers and seek mentors that support mentees to be successful and independent in research.
